This weekend, Santi & I headed over to CABoom. There was a lot of good stuff and I’ll be throwing some of it up for the next few days. I’m going to start with Loll Designs Modern Outdoor Furniture.
Loll designs makes stylish outdoor furniture from recycled milk cartons. Because it is made out of plastic, the furniture doesn’t need to be repainted, as often is the case with furniture which is exposed to the sun, rain, and the elements.
On their website, looks like owners keep it out during the snowier times and they hold up pretty nicely. Also, the company is eco friendly, with a low-impact manufacturing facility and commitment to various eco-initiatives.
But, let’s get to the design of the furniture. Built for the outdoors, it comes several series that look great outside. The go series, to me, is a stylish outdoor set. I sat in the loveseat and it was pretty comfortable. And in a full set arrangement, it is very conducive to lemonade drinking. Nothing is stopping you from adding a nice comfy pillow like the ones from Crate and Barrel: this one or a cushion like this.
Adirondacks are also proven great outdoor chairs. The design is a homage to the classic adirondack chair design. It comes in tons of colors, from sand to leaf green. The Emmet is very similar in design and also looks pretty sharp.
Although the designs are meant for the outdoors, I don’t think that everything needs to be outside and if you have the need for a stylish bench in your apartment or office, I would suggest the picket double. Against a wall, it would work well for a waiting area…
or sledding…
Check out loll designs which sells directly from the website. There is a cute lollygaggers photo gallery with loll design owners showing off their furniture. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the prices. And best of all, it’s all made here in the US of A.
*I’m looking for tips on Organic Cotton throw pillows and cushions. Feel free to leave any leads in the comments.
