Does your car have a cassette tape player but no MP3 jack? Want to listen to MP3s in the car, but don’t like seeing all those wires associated with having an MP3 player + charger + cassette tape adapter?
Well, why don’t you give this little device a try. It’s an MP3 player that functions both as a standalone unit or as a MP3 player for your cassette deck.
It has a SD slot for memory, and a jack for headphones. If you’re in a place where there’s a cassette player, well, pull those headphones out, pop in the tape, and BAM! You can play MP3s in your cassette player, no chords no complications. The only complication I see, which is not at all touched upon in the product description, is how do you skip songs? I know most modern cassette players have a fast forward to the next song feature, but I’m not sure this cassette-MP3 player can take advantage of that. If all you get is a continuous loop of all the MP3s on the cassette… well…hmmm, that blows and I’d definitely have to pass on this one.
You can pick one of these *possibly* useful, and at the very least, cool looking MP3 players from ThinkGeek for $39.99.

p.s. does this remind anyone else of the old cassette Decepticon spies from Transformers (and no, not the movie, because even though the cassette spies were my favorites, they didn’t make the cut for the movie). You know, the ones that would go and record secret Autobot conversations, then come back and fly into Soundwave’s chest where he could play the recording back? Okay, maybe i just revealed a bit too much about my nerdiness…
