Silent Revolution, from Los Angeles, makes some great 21st century bags. These bags are also 100% sweatshop free and designed for a sophisticated urbanite. My favorite is the Odyssey Bag. The red string detail, on the front flap of the bag, is placed there by hand and then the bag is quilted stitched over in order to hold the design. Each Odyssey Bag is a unique piece of art.

I love bags, satchels, backpacks, and pretty much anything that will let me pack things up and carry them with me. While I’m constantly on the hunt for new bags, I’ve come to have a greater appreciation for what has been for me, the greatest bag on the planet: My Henry Tompkins Leather Satchel.

We’ve mentioned Working Class Heroes before, but I wanted to take a closer look at their Unfold laptop bag now that it’s officially out and we’re not limited to a meager preview. Their laptop sleeves are beautiful, and come with a host of different options to choose from, but the bag only comes in one versatile flavor.

I’ve always been a fan of Working Class Heroes’ simple, understated, yet beautifully designed accessories. Their use of basic, but high quality materials such as premium cognac leather, washed slat cotton canvas, and top-grade wool felt in their construction has always appealed to my own sense of style and design. Turns out that they are launching their new collection in just a few days on February 4th.

The Incase 15″ Nylon Sleeve is a padded protective sleeve designed for the MacBook Pro, though my Aluminum G4 Powerbook fits in it like they were made for each other. But the Incase differs from most laptop sleeves in that it can function as a standalone case for the laptop as well. The sleeve features two D-rings for attaching a shoulder strap, which is included, and a very nice one to boot. The sleeve also has two pockets, one on either side, with handles that tuck away into the pockets while not in use. The inside of the case includes a small pocket for pens and three card slots. The lining is some variety of synthetic fur, making it the softest thing I’ve ever placed next my laptop. The case itself has held up well to several months of use; the craftsmanship is extremely good. In fact, my sole complaint about the case is that there’s little room to place the power adapter for the laptop - it will fit in either outer pocket, but it makes an unsightly bulge. Not a major concern, but if you’re nurturing a case of obsessive-compulsive disorder this might not be the case for you. Comes in many colors, including black.
