So, forgive my excitement over this new guitar from famed analog synthesizer maker Moog. This is Moog’s first electric guitar and what an instrument they have created. I’ll spare you the boring technical details and sum it up in this simple statement: This is a new type of instrument! The guitar has so many controls over it’s sound and the vibration of its strings (it can indefinitely sustain notes, or automatically mute strings), that I think Moog has brought the guitar to a new level, past what is now considered guitar. Think like 5th Element future-music type new level. It’s as if this guitar deserves a new name, like “Super Guitar”, or maybe something flashier like “Hyper Guitar Ultra Edition.” I’ve got nothing against traditional guitars, but I love new instruments and I’d love to see this one take off.

The video might be a bit dry for some of you out there, but it shows some cool abilities of the guitar, and it features the guitarist from one of my favorite bands to boot (the Garaj Mahal)! At the very least, I think all of you can appreciate the pictures, and see what a gorgeous musical instrument, albeit hi-tech, it really is.
