Brunton Echo 7×18 Pocket Scope

I’m a sucker for 24, to the point that I value the gear choices made by the (fictional!) Jack Bauer enough to guide my purchasing decisions. Well, this was the first time, and I’d say it worked out pretty well - the Brunton Scope Jack favors turns out to be quite impressive for the price.

I like pretty much anything that lets you see a long way - I have many binoculars and telescopes, but nothing that’s quite so small as the Brunton Echo. Roughly the size of my thumb (a little thicker), it magnifies things seven times while being small and light enough to disappear into a pocket. The optics aren’t anything amazing, but they are impressive for the $30 price - though Amazon is selling the scope for $20 right now; a great deal if you ask me. Mine just arrived today, and I can see it’s going to be with me a lot…

Also included in the package was a case, lanyard, and lens cleaning cloth. The case was unimpressive, but the scope itself more than makes up for it - and isn’t that what you really care about?
